Information about this leaf: The illustration is a carefully detailed engraving that was been hand-painted with watercolor to represent the exact colors of the plant Medicago polymorpha, a type of clover. The image is labeled 176 in the upper right corner. This illustration is Plate 47 in Volume 3. Information about this book: Although the label declares this book was published in 1773, there is a consensus that it was actually published in 1777. This book is the first volume in a promised series in which Curtis declares he will "publish a number once a month--or six weeks at fartherest." --From the label
