Summary
The Women's Gym began small and simple, as one can see in this photo. Later, in 1922, the University constructed McKee Gymnasium. McKee was also women-specific, but gave them many more amenities in the gymnasium.

1953 - East wing auditorium addition to Jesse Hall
Summary
Construction on Jesse in 1953. The East Wing Auditorium was completed in 1954. The original entrance to the auditorium was from the quad on the north side and seated 1,200 people. However, its wooden balcony was removed after being proclaimed a fire hazard. In 1953, renovations took place, and today it seats 1,732 people.

Summary
Presented in the 1918 Savitar, this is one of the first pictures of the library. Originally, books were kept in the Academic Hall; however, as time went on, the University needed a new building to house the rising number of documents. Thus, the University began construction in 1913.

1969 - Construction of Hearnes Center
Summary
Construction of the new basketball arena began in 1969, officially opening in 1972. Construction strikes and the lack of funds caused the auditorium's slow development. The 1971 Kansas-Missouri game was supposed to close Brewer Fieldhouse as the basketball arena, but Hearnes hadn't yet been fully built.
