UMKC Libraries' Digital Projects provides access to digitized and born-digital content held in LaBudde Special Collections, University Archives and Marr Sound Archives. In our digital collections, we have content by and about people of many races, ethnicities, national origins, beliefs, sexualities, genders, and disabilities. Historically, many people have been subject to bias, discrimination, and violence. While that history is reflected in some of our collections, we are making appropriate changes to the type of language we use to describe this content, on an ongoing basis.
The Dolores Hobley Collection was formed by various purchases from her business at Waldo Antiques of Kansas City, beginning in the early 2010s, with the bulk acquisitions made in March 2015. The collection consists of photographs and other material that primarily reflect aspects of the African-American cultural experience during the late 19th century and into the 20th century, including in and around Kansas City.
