Marquee advertising "Brush Creek Follies" at the KMBC-TV Playhouse (once the Ararat Shrine Temple and then the Victoria Theatre and Capri Theatre; later the Lyric Theatre) in the KMBC-TV building at 11th and Central, Kansas City, Mo.
Crowd lined up to see Irving Berlin's "Alexander's Ragtime Band" outside the Esquire Theatre, 211 E. 12th St., Kansas City, Mo. Note attached to photo: 57 years ago today, August 19th, on my 25th birthday, I opened a new, downtown movie theater, the Fox Esquire with the historic, 20th Century-Fox musical, "Alexander's Ragtime Band". Opening day ticket line was a block long! Women wore hats then... even in the summertime! (so did some men).
