The Jesse K. Bell was built in 1879. Her dimensions were:- 220 x 41 x 7 feet. Captain Jesse K. Bell became president of the New Orleans National Bank and befriended Captain Dick Sinnot who built and owned her. Later Captain Sinnot was appointed Collector of the Port of New Orleans by President Cleveland and he then sold his boat to Captain George Washington Rea who ran her for several years and then sold her to the Mississippi Packet Company for the coast trade. She wore herself out on this run and finally was dismantled. Her hull was used as a coal barge and sank at Knox's coal yard just above the mouth of Red River.
