Side-wheel excursion boat Alton at port. Most days, this steamer ran St. Louis to Six-Mile Island on the Illinois River, stopping both ways at Alton and Chautauqua. One day a week she ran St. Louis to Kampsville, Illinois. Daily evening trips were run at St. Louis. Fourteen governors rode the Alton during the "Roosevelt Parade" in October 1907.
