This group of residents of the California Garden Apartments, 2918 California Av., have collected money from the residents of the apartments to buy a police officer a bullet-proof vest. From left in front row are Abert Boller, Leoma Hatcher, Edna Tartt, Elizabeth Melinik, Myrtle Heinrich, Ruth Augustin, Ann O'Gara and Marie Wilson. In back from left are Arnetta Steel, Mae Stone, Orville Augustin, Ann Allen, Annie Peterson, Olga Stipsits, Ethel Julius and Martha Frost.
