Reviving memories of World War I when he did some onion-peeling at Jefferson Barracks, Miles A. Elliff, Superintendent of Schools at Lebanon, Mo., demonstrated his technique for Jefferson Barracks officers and some of the 13 Missouri educators who toured the post yesterday. Wiping onion tears from Elliff's eyes is Dr. John Rufi, professor of education at the University of Missouri, while J. G. Bryan, Director of Secondary Education, Kansas City, holds a cup to catch the tears. Col. Converse R. Lewis, Jefferson Barracks commanding officer, is standing directly is back at Elliff. The photo was taken in the general mess hall, where the educators sampled army chow.
