"Concordia Turners School of Physical Training will hold an open house Sunday, Sept. 8, from 2 to 5 p.m. to dedicate this new gymnasium at 6345 Gravois ave. The gym is part of a planned $500,000 expansion program by the organization which was founded in 1875. Concordia Turners was located at Thirteenth and Arsenal streets until construction of the Ozark Expressway forced it to move to its present quarters on Gravois. In addition to the gymnasium a large outdoor swimming pool, bowling alleys and other facilities are planned. Sunday there will be a flag presentation ceremony by the Quentin Roosevelt American Legion Post I. Carl Anderson, president of the American Turners, will speak. Pamphlets on class schedules, social activities and Concordia's plans for the future will be available."
