"'Topping Out' Exective Building: Ironworkers swing the last steel beam into place atop the Executive Office Building, new 20-story structure going up at Sixth and Olive streets. The beam carried an American flag and a Christmas tree for ceremonies Tuesday marking completion of the building's framework. The $9,000,000 project is the first major office building to go up in the downtown area in three decades. The tree is a traditional symbol expected to bring good luck to future occupants."
