Description: An idea of antiquity of the area contained in the proposed river-front improvement project, is given by a plaque attached to the building, second from the left, shown in this photograph on Second street, just north of Chestnut street. The legend relates that the property- 120x150 feet- was sold for $120 on September 26, 1768, and included in the sale was a log cabin 16 feet square.
