Description: Photograph of the soldiers of the 23rd Infantry marching through Brooklyn by the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Arch. Engraved on the arch is the statement, "To the Defenders of the Union 1861-1865". The solders are marching underneath the arch in the photograph while civilians walk around the outside of the arch and on sidewalks in the left middle-ground.
