The Globe-Democrat Spelling Bee Finals took place at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, and the four winners are photographed here with pronouncer Dr. Richard W. Burnett and judge Roy C. Dripps. The winners are, from left, Kim Windish, 14, Incarnate Word Elementary School; Linda Hsu, 12, Jefferson Junior High, St. Charles; Terri Daniels, 12, Pontiac Junior High, Fairview Heights; and Tamara Millay, 14, Valmeyer (III.) Junior High.
