Each winner is wearing a "Globe-Democrat KTVI-TV Spelling Bee" name tag with their names, age, school, and hometown. The winners are standing behind a row of Atlases and other books laid out on a table, with a "National Spelling Bee" entry sign with a television underneath the sign. Next to the television is a board giving details of the television, and how through entering the National Spelling Bee, you could win a "Zenith Handcrafted 12" Personal Portable TV".
