"Relatives and friends of The Globe-Democrat's 1959 Ten Women of Achievement turned out about 1000 strong Monday at the annual Women of Achievement luncheon. Richard H. Amberg, publisher of The Globe-Democrat (at the microphone) presented each of the 10 honored women with a silver plate at the luncheon, held in the Khorassan Room of the Hotel Chase. Many of the 50 women named in other years were in the audience to honor this year's Women of Achievement. Each of the honorees, chosen by an anonymous non-partisan selection committee, was cited for work in a particular field of endeavor."
