Description: Long job confronts painters putting a new white coat on the 230-foot stack of the Hardy Salt Company, a landmark for 41 years at 800 South Vandeventer ave. The tapered, reinforced concrete structure is the tallest stack in St. Louis it measures 16 feet 8 inches at the base and 10 feet 10 inches at the top.
