Stan Musial and Ted Williams (right), standout hitters in the National and American Leagues, respectively, got together for a little chit chat before the game. Musial turned out to be senior circuit's hero in a losing cause while the "Splendid Splinter" walked in his only time at bat.

"Chicken for Thanksgiving: Kindergarten students at Harrison School in Normandy discovered recently that inflation affects the, too. Their annual Thanksgiving celebration this year featured chicken legs instead of turkey dinner. Tamiko Simpson, 5, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Simpson, munches her chicken as she wears an Indian headdress she made." Harrison School was located at 8129 Albin Ave., Normandy, MO.
