Mr. and Mrs. Ray of Crystal City, MO
"Leon G. Ray and Mrs. Ray (Mayme) pose for a photograph at their home. Mr. Ray said, "I have been photographing the Old Newsboys since they started selling papers in Jefferson County." Mrs. Ray would always supply coffee and doughnuts and a place to warm up, she said." There are two Seven-Up aprons and a camera on the table in front of the couple.

New Boys Cottage
Boys housed in 1970 spent 6 months a year in school for half-day sessions. Each group in the cottages went to the gym during two weekday evenings and twice during the weekend. Recreation included bowling, roller skating, swimming, billiards, volleyball, flip board, weights, basketball, wrestling and of course summer baseball held in our now staff parking lot.
New Brentwood Bank
New bank facility: Construction is under way for a new facility of the Brentwood Bank at 2323 S. Hanley Road. Holland F. Chalfant Jr., president, sand the new location will have four drive-in windows, a drive-up automatic teller machine and night depository in addition to lobby tellers and loan personnel in the 2,400 square foot building. C. Rallo Construction Co. is the general contractor and Peters, Kobenz & Kreishman are the architects.

New Life Evangelistic Center Thanksgiving Dinner
"Turkey carcasses lay on the floor; pies balanced precariously on radiators; and diners used plastic forks to clean their paper plates. But the New Life Evangelistic Center's Thanksgiving dinner Thursday made up in spirit what it lacked in atmosphere. The crowd was big, with hungry diners forming a line winding down the long staircase, but the food was home-cooked with a generous dollop of tender loving care. About 300 visitors ate 19 turkeys, 40 to 50 pies and pans of candied sweet potatoes so heavy that it took two men to deliver them, according to Reverend Larry Rice." Two men, Norman Boyce and Micky Morris, enjoy their Thanksgiving dinner in the photo.

New Signage of Chesterfield, MO Bank
Changing the guard: Workers are installing the new prototype signage of Centerre Bank at the Chesterfield Bank, a member of First Union, Bancorporation. It is the first bank of the St. Louis holding company's affiliates to make the change to Centerre. Effective Jan. 4, all First Union banks in the St. Louis area will display the new Centerre signage.
Newly Constructed Dam
"A Newly Constructed Dam at Black Wolf Lake is mulched by Louis Barry (left), field service agent, and Dale Shaw, farm forester, for the Missouri Conservation Commission. The demonstration yesterday was in connection with the "Saga of the Meramec," presented by the Globe-Democrat and the Friends of the Land. The mulching and sowing help the dam hold water."
Newly Elected Bridgeton Town Councilmen
Judge Harry S. Stussie (left) former Bridgeton town attorney swore newly elected Bridgeton town councilmen. Image depicts from left to right, George Virgil Meister, Albert Scheffing, Benedict D. Ferro and Edward H. Boenker during ceremonies held Wednesday night at Pattonville High School. The town converted in 1962 from a board of trustees to a mayor-council form of government. One councilman from each ward was elected along with a mayor in 1962. Monday's election added one councilman from each ward.

Old Boonville Cottages
Image depicts old cottages at the Missouri Reformatory School for Boys. A new multi-purpose building was completed in March 1970 and boys housed in that year spent 6 months of the year in school for half-day sessions. Each cottage went to the gym two evenings a week and twice during the weekend.
