The first groups of enlisted air force reservists, from schools and colleges, farms and factories, are now arriving at Jefferson Barracks, where they will receive preaviation cadet basic training before going on to a pre-flight schools

Camp Stephens Battery A. when mustered from the National Guard into the United States service, Battery A was officered by Capt., later Col. Frank M. Rumbold, who later fought in the Philippines, 1st Lt. John E. Weber, 1st Junior Lt. Edwward Bates Eno, and Murray.
By late summer of 1898, mustering in date for the 7th Regiment, U.S.V. "Immunes", the Army was convinced the woolen uniforms worn at Gettysburg in 1863 were not suited to tropical warfare in 1898.
It was "good-by uniforms" and back to civilian clothes again yesterday as youths from various states finished their courses at the Citizens' Military Training Camp at Jefferson Barracks and turned in their army clothes before being checks out for their return home.
