Traffic snakes it way onto Bernard F. Dickmann Memorial Bridge (aka Poplar St. Bridge) late in day. This is an intersection which anonymous letter-writer has complained about, particularly traffic entering from Spruce St. (coming in at right sice of pic.)
Aalco Wrecking Co. workers use a cutting torch to cut the two top arched beams on the bridge before it collapsed over the rail yards. Two cages of workers hung from cranes as they both torched simultaneously.
