Gast St. Louis Brewing Co. operated a plant at 851 Hornsby Avenue. After a fire, it bottled beer in a plant in Highland, Ill. The brewery closed in the 1940s.

Beer advertisement for Channel Nine's first international beer and food tasting. The event was held at the Omni International Hotel at Union Station and tickets cost $10 for Channel Nine members, $12 for guests and those purchasing at the door. Admission included samples of hundreds of international beer and food samples.
