A fire on the old Jefferson Barracks Bridge (right) forced the temporary closing of two lanes on the adjacent new bridge Wednesday. The fire broke out when workers' torches ignited railroad ties.

The 25 year Club of First National Bank in St. Louis held its annual banquet Thursday evening and two stff members, Walter A. Heidell, assistant vice president, in the left and William F. Tennent, loan service with the bank.
Work resumed on the new Chain of Rocks bridge Monday, after a five-month delay. Work was halted Nov. 22 because of bad weather and alleged unreasonable construction costs. The Ruckman and Hansen Construction Company of Fort Wayne, Ind., has been paying a $250 daily penalty since Nov. 20 for delays in construction.
