Visitors to the First National Bank in St. Louis sign the last piece the last piece of structural steel that will be erected in the bank's new building downtown. The 19-foot, 1,300-pound girder was delivered to the lobby Tuesday morning and will be installed at topping-out ceremonies Jan 27.
A two-lane bridge on Dorsett Road three-quarters of a mile east of Interstate 270 carries a 15 ton weight limit which is not always obeyed. This bridge and four others will be replaced if the St. Louis County highway bond issue is adopted.
Traffic backed up to Lindbergh boulevard about 3 1/2 miles east of the bridge--occur "pretty frequently," according to Lt. A. F. Closson of the Enforcement Division of the Missouri State Highway Patrol station here.
Government officials in St. Louis and neighboring counties said using government facilities to promote such issues is banned as unethical in their areas.
McKinley Bridge officials say the Venice-owned toll bridge has retained some of the new customers it acquired earlier this year when motorists sought to avoid construction areas on the Poplar Street Bridge.
