The Giants' big catcher, Wes Westrum, is shown being tagged out at second in the the third inning yesterday by Cardinal Shortstop Solly Hemus. Westrum had reached first on Hemus' throwing error, and tried to steal second as Pitcher Dave Koslo fanned. Del Rice's perfect throw prevented the theft. Umpire Babe Pinelli keeps an eye on things.

Hal Rice, Pittsburgh outfielder and a onetime Cardinal, is flagged at third by Ray Jablonski trying to steal in the fourth inning. Jablonski took the throw from Catcher Del Rice. It completed a double play, Gair Alley fanning to start the DP. The umpire calling the play is Larry Goetz.
