Headed overseas before Christmas, Pvt. George A. Posey wistfully spent his last few minutes in St. Louis yesterday at Union Station with his girl friend, Miss Margaret Scheer, 226 Fannie ave., Luxemburg, as the Southwest Hight School Choir strolled through the station singing Christmas carols. Posey, who had been stationed at the Army Medical Depot here, was off for Seattle and duty overseas.
Way up there: High-wire walker Jay Cochrane walks 1,000 feet across Busch Stadium during the opening night of the Moolah Shrine Circus Thursday. The circus' top attraction, Cochrane repeated the stunt his friend and mentor, Karl Wallenda, performed at the stadium 10 years ago.
Harris Teachers College has its cafeteria in a basement corridor, so crowded that it must be used as a "one-way street." A cafeteria and a gymnasium are the school's critical needs which would be met through the school bond issue to be voted on May 26, the same date as the St. Louisans will vote in the $110, 639,000 municipal bond issue. The two will be on separate ballots.
