Enjoying Thanksgiving dinner and all the trimmings outside Busch Memorial Stadium Thursday are Big Red fans Tom Burnham, Ken Bushart, Jim Perry, Joe Perry, John Hubbard and Jerry Perry. Indigestion came later when the Buffalo Bills feasted on the Cardinals, 32-14.
Big Red running back Wayne Morris falls into the end zone after completing a 9-yard scoring run that put the Cardinals ahead 7-0 after only 18 seconds in Sunday's game with Dallas. The Cardinals had recovered a fumble on the opening kickoff at the Cowboy 9, and Morris scored on the next play. The Big Red upset Dallas 20-17.
SMITH DEMONSTRATES PUNTING. Halfback Johnny Roland (23) of the Cardinals seems to be stopped here by a host of Philadelphia Eagle tacklers after grabbing Sam Baker's punt during the second period Sunday's National Football league season opener at Busch Stadium. But the former Missouri U. star bounced off Ron Medford (45) and rolled to his right and galloped 52 yards into the Philadelphia end zone. However, the run was nullified because the eager Big Red had roughed up the punter. Other identifiable Eagle players are Jim Nettles (9) and Dwight Kelley (51).
