"The new Globe-Democrat Frequency Modulation Radio Station KWGD will be housed in this modern building on the northwest corner of Cole street and Twelfth boulevard, it was announced yesterday. The architect's drawing above shows the entrance to the structure from which the area's first exclusive frequency modulation broadcasting will originate. The building will have a 525-foot broadcasting tower and antenna and be especially designed to provide for the addition of floors as needed. Initial construction work is planned to begin within the next few weeks. The radio station site is diagonally northwest of the Globe-Democrat newspaper plant. According to E. Lansing Ray, publisher of the Globe-Democrat, the erection of station KWGD is part of the newspaper's planned expansion program to further serve the growing community."
