"From the air…a view of the construction site where foundations are being poured for the $34 million St. Louis Convention Center. The center is expected to be completed in the spring of 1977, and a construction contract for the building itself is expected to be let about Dec. 20. The site is bordered by (A) Cole street, (B) Ninth street, (C) Seventh street and (D) Delmar boulevard. Across from the site on Delmar is the Stix, Baer and Fuller parking garage and beyond that is the rising Mercantile Tower."

Barbers sit in empty chairs as Fred Harvey barber shop in Union Station closed its doors Monday, and for the first time in the station's 70-year history travelers will not be able to get haircuts and shaves in the station.
